Ryukyung-gi Jungnang-gu Mayor's Relay Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention

Ryukyung-gi Jungnang-gu Mayor's Relay Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang District, participated in the 'Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign' on the 18th.

On the same day, Mayor Ryu posted on his Facebook, stating, "I join the 'Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign,'" emphasizing that children are independent individuals in their own right and precious beings who deserve respect. He also wrote that Jungnang District has been striving since last year to create a 'Child-Friendly City' where all children can enjoy basic rights and grow up healthy and happy.

He added, “Our only hope lies in raising children well. Children are newer people than adults. We must not treat them as if they were our belongings but recognize that they are new figures of a much newer era” (Children’s Declaration, 1923).

He asked for the residents' great interest so that, following the precious teachings of Bang Jeong-hwan, who rests at Mangwoo History and Culture Park, all children can grow up healthy and happy in Jungnang.

Mayor Ryu’s participation in the Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign was prompted by the nomination of Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak District.

Mayor Ryu recommended Mayor Yuseong-hoon of Geumcheon District and Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon of Gangseo District as the next participants in the relay campaign.
