Celebrities Also Receive Unemployment Benefits... Actors Yuseon and Yutaewoong Promote Them Relay Promotional Video for Artists' Employment Insurance, Wired Edition. Provided by Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service

The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service announced on the 18th that it has produced a 'Promotional Video for the Artists' Employment Insurance System' to inform that entertainers such as actors can also enroll in employment insurance and receive unemployment benefits.

Actors Yuseon and Taeung participated in the 'Artists' Employment Insurance' promotional video released on this day as a talent donation. Last year, actors Jiseunghyun and singer Song Haye also participated. Yuseon has appeared in numerous works including the drama 'Eve' and the play 'Love Letter,' and Yutaeung debuted as an MBC 23rd public recruitment talent, playing leading and supporting roles in various productions.

The Artists' Employment Insurance System was introduced in December 2020 to support artists' unemployment protection and livelihood stabilization through job-seeking benefits and maternity benefits. Since then, about 230,000 artists have enrolled in employment insurance. The system applies to artists and those engaged or intending to engage in creative, performance, and technical support activities in the cultural and artistic fields. Among them, those who have contracts related to cultural and artistic services and provide labor directly can receive benefits.

Although artists receive practical benefits through job-seeking and maternity benefits, it is known that some artists still do not know whether they are eligible for employment insurance, resulting in failure to receive job-seeking benefits on time, or that employers who were unaware of their obligation to enroll report late and bear fines.

Chairman Park Jonggil stated, "I hope that the promotional video will help more artists learn about the Artists' Employment Insurance System," and added, "Through the intensive reporting period operating until the 31st of next month, I hope that workplaces and artists who have not yet enrolled will join the Artists' Employment Insurance so that they can continue their artistic activities more stably and comfortably."
