December 1st, 8 AM at Yangsan Sports Complex, Half Marathon from 9 AM, 10 km and 5 km
Yangsan City, Gyeongnam (Mayor Na Dong-yeon) conducted a preliminary on-site inspection on the 18th ahead of the 18th Yangsan National Half Marathon.
At this on-site inspection chaired by Vice Mayor Jo Hyun-ok, key departments related to the marathon course, such as the River Division and Road Maintenance Division, attended, focusing on preparing for potential safety accidents during the event.
The main inspection items included identifying and promptly addressing all abnormal factors on the course, such as construction site safety measures and road surface potholes, to ensure thorough preparation so participants can fully concentrate on running on the marathon day.
Additionally, thorough prior publicity is planned to minimize citizen inconvenience caused by detours of city buses and traffic control on major roads due to the marathon event.
The 18th Yangsan National Half Marathon, a family-friendly event, will gather at Yangsan Sports Complex at 8 a.m. on December 1st, with the half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km races starting sequentially from 9 a.m.
Notably, since last year, the marathon course has been completely changed; based on the half marathon course, runners will pass about 100 meters beyond the main entrance of Hwangsan Park via the Sports Complex and Water Purification Park before turning back.
Vice Mayor Jo Hyun-ok stated, “With the event just two weeks away, we will continue thorough on-site inspections to ensure marathoners can run safely and comfortably in a good environment.”
