Sharing Key Design Considerations and Future Schedule
Daejeon City held a kick-off meeting for the "Basic Design Service for the Construction of Daejeon Medical Center" at the main conference room of the former Chungnam Provincial Government building on the 18th.
During the meeting, the city shared the key design points and future schedule based on the basic design plan for Daejeon Medical Center, which was finally selected through the second phase of the design competition last September.
The city determined that practical, hands-on design advice was necessary for the construction project, and thus formed an advisory committee centered on experts currently working at public hospitals, including Cho Seungyeon, Director of Incheon Medical Center.
Son Cheolwoong, Director of Sports and Health at Daejeon City, explained the design direction and goals of Daejeon Medical Center, and requested active interest and participation from the advisory group and design service officials.
Meanwhile, Daejeon Medical Center, which will be built at 11 Yongun-dong, Dong-gu, across from Daejeon University, is planned to be completed by 2029 with a total investment of 175.9 billion won. The center will have 2 underground floors and 7 above-ground floors (total floor area of 33,148 square meters) and a capacity of 319 beds.
