The ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Kim Yoon-seop, the 7th president of the GIST Technology Management Academy (GTMBA) Alumni Association, Kim Hae-myung, chairman of the GIST Development Foundation, as well as GIST students and faculty members.

President Lim Ki-chul stated in his commemorative speech, "Today, we celebrate the 31st anniversary of our establishment, and at the same time, we must strengthen our unity and resolve to open the future together," emphasizing, "I am confident that when we respect each other and become one, we can achieve true harmony-up and make a leap forward."

He continued, "GIST has once again begun a bold and brave flight. We are addressing long-standing pending projects one by one, including establishing the 30s innovation plan, founding GIST Holdings, attracting the IBS Campus Research Group, being selected as a Global Leading Research Center IRC, as well as designing the main gate and community lounge, which will become landmarks of GIST," he explained.

President Lim urged, "Starting from the 31st anniversary ceremony, let us all reflect on the meaning of 'One Team, GIST' and gather our precious intentions under the name of GIST to write a new history together."

National Assembly member Ahn Do-gul congratulated via a video message, saying, "I congratulate GIST on its 31st anniversary, having taken root in Gwangju Metropolitan City in 1993 with the hopes of the people and local residents, producing various research achievements and nurturing excellent scientific and technological researchers," and added, "I hope it will continue to grow into a world-class research institution and take on many roles as a central institution for regional innovation."

On this day, GIST's External Cooperation Office declared the ‘Sharing Makes Us Bigger (Na·Deo·Keo) Campaign’ to foster an atmosphere that enhances the university’s financial stability and promotes external fundraising through voluntary participation of internal members.

This campaign aims to spread a culture of donation involving more than 3,000 internal and external members, encouraging steady participation of at least 5,000 KRW per share monthly or annually, placing more importance on the number of participants rather than the amount raised.
