Recruitment of Service Users Ongoing Until the 27th...
Gwangju City announced on the 18th that it will publicly recruit organizations to carry out the integrated care (24-hour support) project for individuals with the most severe developmental disabilities until the 27th.
The "Integrated Care for Individuals with the Most Severe Developmental Disabilities" service is a project that provides safe residential living services to people with developmental disabilities who have had difficulty using existing welfare services due to challenging behaviors such as self-harm and harm to others.
This service began as the "Integrated Care Project for Individuals with the Most Severe Developmental Disabilities," which the city launched nationwide for the first time in 2021. It was selected as a national policy task in 2022, and with the revision of the Developmental Disabilities Act in the same year, it has been expanded nationwide since June of this year.
The recruitment target is public and non-profit organizations with the ability and experience to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Interested organizations can check the announcement on Gwangju City's official website under "Notices & Announcements" and submit the application documents in person. The selection results will be posted on Gwangju City's website in December and notified individually.
Additionally, the city is continuously accepting applications from service users. Service applications can be made at the local administrative welfare center in the applicant's residential area, and after a visit survey by the Regional Developmental Disabilities Support Center and confirmation, the service can be provided.
Nam Miseon, Director of the Disability Welfare Division, said, "We expect this recruitment to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and reduce the caregiving burden on their families," adding, "We hope many capable organizations in the region will apply."
