Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 18th that it held a mid-term report meeting for the research project on military-related damage analysis and response strategies at the county office situation room on the 15th.
This report meeting was organized to share the interim results of the ongoing research project and to review and supplement the overall task performance through the collection of diverse opinions.
The county previously received applications for military-related damage cases from all departments and towns and townships, and based on this, sought response strategies for Yeoncheon-gun through detailed investigation and analysis with various scenarios. In particular, in-depth discussions were held on practical policy support measures for the residents of Yeoncheon-gun who have endured sacrifices over time.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to comprehensively supplement data such as resident surveys and additional damage case collection based on the results of this mid-term report meeting and produce a high-quality final result by December.
Kim Deok-hyeon, the mayor of Yeoncheon-gun, said, “Yeoncheon-gun has contributed to national security and made sacrifices and dedication for the country over time, so special compensation is needed for these special sacrifices,” adding, “Based on this research project, we will do our best to utilize it as a task for institutional improvement in the National Assembly and central government ministries and to prepare practical support measures for the residents of Yeoncheon-gun.”
