Veteran Volunteer Team Gifts Premium Beauty Products to Vulnerable Groups
The Department of Beauty Industry at Dongmyung University’s College of Future Convergence has formed the ‘Viewvengers’ volunteer team, composed of experts with over 20 years of experience.
On the 15th, Dongmyung University and Busan Nam-gu Office signed an agreement to provide beauty services that share happiness. On the day of the agreement, premium beauty services were offered to 70 elderly individuals from vulnerable groups at the Busan Nam-gu Senior Welfare Center.
The Viewvengers volunteer activities of the Beauty Industry Department consist of South Korea’s top experts, including franchise salon owners, foreign cosmetics managers, professors, and master’s and doctoral graduate students. They provide the best beauty services to elderly people in vulnerable groups who usually have difficulty receiving such services, aiming to alleviate social isolation.
The Busan Nam-gu Senior Citizens Association said, “We are very happy to have had our hair styled and nails done,” adding with a smile, “We hope this can be done frequently, even quarterly.”
Dean Taedongsuk (professor of the Beauty Industry Department) stated, “We are pleased that top beauty experts with over 20 years of experience can support elderly individuals in vulnerable groups who usually find it difficult to receive premium beauty services. Seeing the happiness of the elderly makes us proud, and we plan to continue this effort steadily rather than as a one-time volunteer activity.”
