Busan New Port, Scholarship Donation to National Pukyong National University Supporting Talented Students' Development and Employment

Busan New Port Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwon Ki-hyun) donated 5 million KRW in scholarships to support the development of talented individuals and employment assistance to Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon).

On the 18th, Pukyong National University and Busan New Port Co., Ltd. announced that they recently signed a scholarship support agreement to foster local talent, support employment, and establish a regional development ecosystem leading to local settlement.

Busan New Port Co., Ltd., which operates the container terminal at Busan New Port, is an Asia-Pacific regional subsidiary of DP World, a foreign company headquartered in Dubai that operates ports and maritime terminals.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will provide scholarships totaling 5 million KRW to five students majoring in marine engineering at Pukyong National University, selecting three female students among the scholarship recipients to support female talent in the long term.

Additionally, Busan New Port Co., Ltd. plans to hold regular exchange events with the scholarship students and grant them additional points when they apply for employment at the company.

Pukyong National University plans to establish a virtuous cycle system in which outstanding talents in marine-related fields at the university work at local companies and settle in the region through this agreement with Busan New Port Co., Ltd.
