This certification is awarded to designs that provide visually clear and safe information by evaluating the excellence of Color Universal Design (CUD) across various fields such as visual, product, and environment.
Hoban Construction, in joint research with Samhwa Paints, created a color guide manual book for brand apartment underground parking lots. It is characterized by being designed to optimize colors and contrasts so that all users, including the elderly and colorblind, can easily recognize visual information in the underground parking lot.
KCUD certification requires meeting safe and inclusive design standards that help users with various types of color vision clearly distinguish zones and move safely even under limited lighting and complex structures.
Hoban Construction’s underground parking lot color guide received positive evaluations for fulfilling these standards and implementing user-centered inclusive design.
A Hoban Construction official stated, "We designed it to ensure safety and convenience when using the underground parking lot, and established a color plan considerate of all groups, including the elderly and colorblind. We will actively adopt the certified color guide and strive to create residential spaces where consumers can use safely."
