Hanam-si to Hold 2024 Population Policy Committee and Working Task Force Workshop

Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 18th that it held the '2024 Population Policy Committee and Working Group Workshop' on the 15th at the city hall's main conference room, with 60 participants including members of the city's Population Policy Committee, the working group, and MZ generation public officials.

This workshop was organized to understand the current status of population policies in each department and to set a direction for sustainable population policy promotion through discussions with the MZ generation, who will have a significant impact on the future population structure.

At the workshop, the current status of projects was shared in four areas: pregnancy and childbirth, childcare and education, youth and employment, and the elderly, and effective development plans for population issues were discussed.

The MZ generation public officials approached population policy issues such as low birth rates from a new perspective and proposed creative ideas.

Based on the results of this workshop, Hanam City plans to establish future directions for population policy promotion and discover policies that can bring practical changes to citizens' lives.

Mayor Lee Hyun-jae emphasized, "We held this workshop to reconsider the population issues we face and to find sustainable solutions. Hanam City will do its best to prepare countermeasures against the low birth rate and aging crisis based on the ideas generated today."
