On the 18th, LS announced that on the 16th, it held the "Sharing Warmth with LS Group: Full of Kimchi Making" event at the LS Miraewon training center in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. The event was attended by Vice Chairman Myung, President Ahn Won-hyung of LS Corporation, about 30 LS Group executives and employees, as well as around 300 volunteers including Kim Bo-ra, Mayor of Anseong, and National Assembly member Yoon Jong-gun, who made over 4,500 heads of kimchi.
Additionally, 50 kg of native honey harvested directly from LS Miraewon and 152 blankets were prepared and delivered to social welfare facilities and about 700 underprivileged households in Anseong City.
Vice Chairman Myung said, "We are pleased to hold the kimchi-sharing event every year with volunteers from Anseong City, as it provides a small help for neighbors in need to get through the cold winter. We plan to continue various social contribution activities that coexist with the local community to fulfill our corporate social responsibility."
Kim Dong-sung, Director of the Anseong Volunteer Center, said, "This year, due to abnormal weather, the cost of making kimchi has increased significantly, making it difficult for vulnerable groups to get through the winter. We sincerely thank the LS Group executives and employees and city volunteers who practiced sharing warmth with neighbors. We will strive to ensure that LS’s spirit of coexisting with the local community is well conveyed."
LS Group conducts domestic and international social contribution activities, supports underprivileged groups in local communities, and donates disaster relief funds annually through programs such as the LS Dream Center, LS University Student Overseas Volunteer Group, and LS Dream Science Class.
In June, LS established a new social contribution program called LS Love Story and donated 50 million won to the nonprofit organization Sarangui Bapcha. They plan to discover and support individuals or groups who serve as social role models by practicing neighborly love throughout the year.
