An Important Milestone for Paju as a Cultural City
Expected to Be a Strong Partner for Citizens and Local Artists
The Gyeonggi Foundation Paju Cultural Foundation held its launch ceremony on the afternoon of the 15th in front of the small theater at Paju Citizens' Hall, officially marking its start.

The launch ceremony proceeded in the order of △pre-ceremony congratulatory performance by the Paju City Children’s Choir △progress report △commemorative and congratulatory speeches △plaque unveiling ceremony.
In his commemorative speech, Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, “The Paju Cultural Foundation, which citizens have consistently expressed the need for and awaited, will be an important milestone in creating a cultural city Paju,” adding, “We look forward to the foundation’s role in realizing cultural welfare universally enjoyed by all citizens.”
In his inaugural address, CEO Kim Young-jun announced the foundation’s vision of “Paju, a cultural city walking with its citizens” and the promotion of four strategic tasks: △expansion of citizens’ cultural rights △realization of cultural welfare △activation of local cultural and artistic resources △open management based on communication and cooperation. He expressed his determination to make the foundation a leader opening a new chapter in local culture and a reliable partner for citizens and local artists.
The Paju Cultural Foundation, an institution funded by Paju City, began full-scale establishment efforts in August 2022, held its inaugural general meeting in September, and completed its establishment in October.
Located on the third floor of the small theater at Paju Citizens' Hall, the Paju Cultural Foundation started its operations in November and will focus on promoting △cultural and artistic advancement projects △cultural welfare projects △local cultural content projects, as well as managing the operation of seven public performance venues in Paju City.
