G-Star 2024, the largest game exhibition in Korea celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, concluded its four-day journey. It attracted the largest number of on-site visitors since the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing significant attention.

The G-Star organizing committee announced on the 17th that approximately 215,000 people visited G-Star 2024 held at BEXCO in Busan over four days. This year’s G-Star, held from the 14th to the 17th of this month, featured 3,359 booths, making it the largest event in history.

Nexon participated as the main sponsor of this event, showcasing four titles: Super Vibe, First Berserker: Kazan, Hwanse Chwihojeon Online, and Project Overkill. Additionally, Nexon celebrated its 30th anniversary with a large-scale orchestra performance.

Google Korea set up booths focusing on multiplayer competitive party games such as Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures and Sonic Rumble. Netmarble exhibited globally popular intellectual properties (IPs) including Game of Thrones: Kingsroad and Mongil: Star Dive.

Other companies such as Lionheart Studio, Webzen, Krafton, and Hive IM also installed booths in the B2C (business-to-consumer) hall to showcase new releases.

The B2B (business-to-business) hall featured 924 booths, with 22,211 paid buyers attending in person.

The core side event, the game industry conference G-CON, held 42 sessions. Keynote speeches were delivered by Yoon Myung-jin, CEO of Neople, a Nexon subsidiary developing First Berserker: Kazan, and Yoichi Erikawa, founder and CEO of Koei Tecmo, a Japanese game company famous for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series.

The global game platform Steam participated in the event for the first time. The streaming platform SOOP also set up a booth.

On the same day, the G-Star Indie Awards, an indie game awards ceremony, was held. Six titles, including Snake Eagle’s Kill the Witch and Nspec’s Worldon, received awards.

Kang Shin-cheol, chairman of the G-Star organizing committee, stated, "Thanks to the love and support for G-Star over the past 20 years, we have been able to grow like this. We will do our best to create a G-Star that can steadily develop little by little in the future to repay that support."
