"Producer and Artist Working Together, Advantage of YG Song Camp"
A documentary showcasing YG Entertainment's in-house producing system, which created Big Bang and BLACKPINK, was released on the 17th.
On the 17th, YG Entertainment released the 'Baby Monster Song Camp Documentary' on its official YouTube channel. The 51-minute video highlights YG's 'Song Camp' system and is structured to introduce the 'Song Camp.'
'Song Camp' is a music production method where renowned overseas composers are invited to Korea to share ideas with an internal producer team that holds the vision called 'YG DNA,' working together to create the best possible results. One of the key features of the 'Song Camp' system is the ability to work systematically in an environment that allows close communication with international experts.
Global writers who have collaborated with YG explained, "The advantage of YG Song Camp is that you work not only with producers but also directly with artists." In practice, they communicated directly with members during recording sessions, providing direction tailored to each vocal, confirming meaningful synergy.
YG's next-generation girl group Baby Monster's digital single 'FOREVER' also emerged through this free communication process. German singer-songwriter and producer BLVSH, who participated in the song, spontaneously hummed a melody that was captured and developed, with YG's lead producer team CHOICE joining forces to maximize Baby Monster's energy.
The journey to build YG's uniquely high-quality musical world is still ongoing. CHOICE37 said about Baby Monster's first full-length album 'DRIP,' "During this Song Camp, we worked hard to create the best songs for Baby Monster," adding, "We hope everyone enjoys the tracks included in the album."
Baby Monster released their first full album 'DRIP' on the 1st. The album debuted at No. 149 on the US Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200.' The title track 'DRIP' entered the Billboard Global Excl. U.S chart and the Billboard Global 200 at No. 16 and No. 30, respectively, setting their personal best rankings.
