Railway Union to Engage in Work-to-Rule from the 18th... Full Strike Scheduled for Next Month

The Korean Railway Workers' Union (Railway Union) of the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers' Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions announced on the 17th that it will begin a work-to-rule (lawful struggle) starting from the 18th.

The Railway Union plans to hold a press conference on the 21st to announce a general strike and then proceed to an indefinite general strike in early next month.

Accordingly, Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) has posted notices in station waiting rooms informing that some train operations may be delayed.

The Railway Union is demanding a shift to a four-team, two-shift system, reinforcement of insufficient personnel, and a 2.5% flat increase in base salary.
