Gwangju Buk-gu to Hold 'Small Business Owners' Day Event'

On the 18th afternoon, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 17th that it will hold the 'Small Business Owners' Day Event' at Yongbong Green Wetland Park under the theme 'Small Business Owners Must Survive for Buk-gu, Gwangju to Smile.'

This event was prepared to boost the morale and promote communication and harmony among local small business owners who are struggling due to uncertain domestic and international economic conditions.

In its second year, this year's event will be attended by about 500 local small business owners and residents, featuring a commemorative ceremony, congratulatory performances, and side events until 6 p.m. At the ceremony, awards for 'Exemplary Small Business Owners' who contributed to revitalizing the local economy will be presented, along with congratulatory performances such as line dancing and senior model walking, as well as a singing contest.

Additionally, various side events will be held simultaneously, including experience programs like nail art, leather crafts, and calligraphy; financial promotion booths (Buk Gwangju Microfinance Promotion Center); volunteer activities for small business owners (Seoyoung University Department of Social Welfare); and an Onnuri gift certificate recharge event.

Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "I hope this event will breathe new life into small business owners and serve as an opportunity for them to make a fresh leap forward," adding, "We will continue to discover and implement various support policies to ensure that small business owners can become proud main players in the local economy."

Meanwhile, Buk-gu was recognized for its achievements and efforts in supporting and revitalizing small business owners at the '2024 Korea Small Business Owners Conference' held last month, being the only local government nationwide to be selected as an 'Outstanding Support Organization' and receiving the 'Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation.'
