Daegu City Councilor Jeon Gyeong-won: "Urgent Need to Expand Marine Training Center Safety Experience Hall"... Education Committee Administrative Audit

The Education Committee of Daegu City Council (Chairperson Park So-young) conducted an administrative audit on the Daegu Education Marine Training Center, Palgongsan Training Center, and Nakdonggang Training Center on the 15th. During the audit, various ongoing projects were reviewed, including safety measures at Palgongsan Training Center, expansion of marine equipment and the safety experience center at the Marine Training Center, and the construction of a new training education building at Nakdonggang Training Center.

Park So-young, Chairperson of the Education Committee of Daegu City Council (People Power Party, Dong-gu 2), reviewed the operation status of the training and camping programs at Palgongsan Training Center and requested improvements for programs with low satisfaction. She also urged careful attention to ensure that the temporary library operated by the Dongbu Library within the physical education experience center does not interfere with students' training activities.

Son Han-guk, Councilor (People Power Party, Dalseong-gun 3), reviewed the operation status of the Nakdonggang Training Center’s signature project, the ‘Safety Experience Classroom with Family,’ confirmed high citizen satisfaction, and requested exploration of future development directions such as expanding the number of participants.

Jeon Gyeong-won, Councilor (People Power Party, Suseong-gu 4), pointed out the urgent need to expand the aging safety experience center at the Marine Training Center and urged active consultation with the City Office of Education to ensure the expansion is not delayed. He also noted that Nakdonggang Training Center has signed a business agreement with Daegu Transportation Corporation to operate a subway safety experience program and requested active cooperation with related organizations to enhance the effectiveness of experience programs at other training centers as well.

Lee Young-ae, Councilor (People Power Party, Dalseo-gu 1), inspected the safety measures established after the student burn accident at Palgongsan Training Center in April and requested strengthening professional training to enhance the expertise of safety officers, urging utmost efforts to prevent future safety accidents. She also called for thorough preparedness against landslide risks due to the increasing frequency of localized heavy rains caused by abnormal weather.

Park Woo-geun, Councilor (People Power Party, Nam-gu 1), addressed the decrease in marine equipment at the Marine Training Center and emphasized the need to expand marine equipment so that students can safely engage in diverse marine activities. He also reviewed the development status of new programs at the Marine Training Center and requested meticulous management to ensure the developed programs operate with high satisfaction.
