Thanksgiving Event Held from 18th to 29th
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it is the first in the province to surpass 500 million won in cumulative donations through the Hometown Love Donation Program.
The city explained that as of the 14th, a total of 5,408 donations had been made, raising a cumulative donation amount of 500 million won. The city stated that this was due to actively promoting the program from its early stages by introducing representative thank-you gifts at nationwide events and festivals and conducting events for donors to revitalize the system.
To commemorate reaching 500 million won in donations, the city will also hold a 'Thank You Event.' From the 18th to the 29th, anyone who donates 100,000 won or more to Hwaseong City will be automatically entered into a drawing, where 100 winners will receive 2 kg of Suhyangmi rice, a local specialty product.
Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We thank all the donors who have supported and shown love for Hwaseong City," adding, "We will use the donations to create a Hwaseong City where everyone wants to live, reflecting the precious hearts of the donors."
The Hometown Love Donation Program is a system that promotes regional development and mutual growth through donations to areas other than one’s place of residence, providing donors with tax deduction benefits and local specialty products as thank-you gifts. Donations can be made through the online 'Hometown Love e-um' website or at any NongHyup Bank branch nationwide.
