Gwangju Urban Corporation is making an all-out effort to promote major projects by actively engaging in administration, including visiting the National Assembly to secure next year's national budget.

On the 15th, Kim Seung-nam, President of Gwangju Urban Corporation, met with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik to request the inclusion of major projects in the national budget. The key national budget projects proposed that day include ▲Establishment of Gwangju Driver's License Test Center (10.3 billion KRW) ▲Remodeling of aged public rental housing (1.4 billion KRW), among others.

Gwangju is the only one among the 17 metropolitan local governments nationwide without a driver's license test center, causing long-standing inconvenience to its citizens. Additionally, the remodeling of aged public rental housing is a project aimed at improving the energy efficiency of permanent rental housing that has been completed for over 15 years, as well as fully replacing outdated elevators to enhance the living environment for vulnerable groups.

President Kim Seung-nam emphasized, "Securing the national budget is crucial to securing future regional growth engines and accelerating the progress of pending projects," adding, "We will do our best with proactive administration, always ready to explain and engage to improve citizen convenience and welfare."

Meanwhile, since his inauguration on the 10th of last month, President Kim has been striving to smoothly carry out large-scale projects of Gwangju Urban Corporation based on his experience as a two-term National Assembly member and his outstanding political skills.
