Yangsan-si to Operate Intensive Collection Period for Agricultural Waste in the Second Half of the Year

Concentrated Collection of Agricultural Waste and Payment of Compensation for Rural Waste Vinyl Collection

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam will operate a focused collection period for agricultural waste from November 18 to December 13 to prevent wildfires and promote environmental improvement in rural areas.

During this period, agricultural waste such as discarded agricultural vinyl, pesticide containers, and residues from illegal waste burning left on village roads and farmland will be intensively collected.

For agricultural vinyl waste, residents can either transport it directly to the Korea Environment Corporation Busan Collection Office (Soju Industrial Complex 2-gil, Yangsan City) or arrange for collection. A rural agricultural vinyl collection reward will be paid based on the weight of the collected vinyl at rates of 140 KRW/kg (Grade A), 100 KRW/kg (Grade B), and 60 KRW/kg (Grade C).

An official from Yangsan City stated, “We believe that promoting proper separation and collection of agricultural waste will improve the rural environment and contribute to the efficient recycling of agricultural waste. We ask for the active interest and participation of citizens.”
