At this event, the labor and management of the Expressway Corporation declared their active participation in overcoming the national low birthrate crisis by spreading a family-friendly corporate culture such as work-family balance and preparing practical support.

They also announced the 'KEC-type Low Birthrate Overcoming Measures,' established with the help of the youth generation and external professional organizations through a task force (TF). This includes specific practical directions related to marriage, pregnancy, and childcare. Specifically, these are ▲ institutionalizing short-term parental leave and introducing telecommuting during pregnancy and childcare periods ▲ improving systems such as creating spaces within the company where employees can work while taking care of their children ▲ establishing a family- and childcare-friendly organizational culture through campaigns like 'Choices for Children Are Supported.'

The labor and management of the Expressway Corporation also donated 50 million KRW to a fundraising campaign to overcome the low birthrate, hosted by Gyeongbuk Province, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the relocation to Gyeongbuk Innovation City this year. They are also making efforts to overcome community crises such as population extinction by considering measures like opening workplace daycare centers to the local community.

Ham Jin-gyu, President of Korea Expressway Corporation, said, "Public institutions must actively take the lead in overcoming the low birthrate crisis," adding, "Labor and management will jointly lead the culture of work-family balance and strive to fulfill our mission for the people and society as a representative public enterprise."

Lee Ji-woong, Chairman of the Korea Expressway Corporation Labor Union, said, "We have always stood together without distinction between labor and management in the face of national crises," and added, "Based on cooperation between labor and management, we will do our best to overcome the low birthrate crisis, including creating a happy workplace where work and life are balanced."
