Discussion on the Expansion Potential of Royal Court Cuisine and the Direction of the Korean Food Industry
'Korea House,' operated by the National Heritage Promotion Agency, will hold a Korean cuisine forum at the Folk Theater on the 6th of next month. Under the theme "Fine Dining: Embracing the Essence of Traditional Korean Cuisine," the forum will exchange diverse opinions on the potential expansion of royal court cuisine, the direction of the Korean food industry, and traditional Korean cuisine applied to fine dining.
Experts from various fields are expected to participate, including Kwon Woo-jung, owner chef of the two-Michelin-star restaurant 'Kwon Sook Soo,' Jeong Hye-kyung, honorary professor of the Department of Food and Nutrition at Hoseo University, and Hong Sung-tae, honorary professor of the Department of Business Administration at Hanyang University. Kim Kwang-hee, head of the Hallyu Promotion Office at the National Heritage Promotion Agency, stated, "It is a timely moment for the fine dining industry to discuss the fundamentals and future of traditional Korean cuisine," adding, "We will strive to develop and promote traditional Korean cuisine based on royal court dishes."
Korea House was established in 1957 by the Presidential Public Relations Office as a traditional cultural complex intended to serve as a guesthouse for VIPs. It is currently used as a space where visitors can enjoy traditional food and Korean culture.
