The Policy Monitoring Group, formed as part of the citizen communication system with the launch of the 8th local government, was newly reorganized as the 2nd term in September. At this regular meeting, Yoon Tae-hyun, CEO of Shinjang Bio Co., Ltd., was appointed as the new head of the Policy Monitoring Group.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Lee Hyun-jae, senior officials, and members of the Policy Monitoring Group, and consisted of discussions on effective city administration publicity methods and a Q&A session on major current issues.

First, discussions were held on effective city administration publicity methods using SNS and the city newsletter.

The city operates various channels such as blogs, Instagram, YouTube, and the city newsletter to efficiently deliver major city administration information to approximately 200,000 citizens.

Going forward, the city plans to strengthen communication through video content such as real-time live broadcasts and add engaging elements like music playlists linked with YouTube in the city newsletter to further expand subscribers.

Additionally, the city conducted a Q&A session with the Policy Monitoring Group regarding major issues citizens are curious about in each district.

Major issues by district include ▲Old Town (progress of Camp Colburn development project, support for remodeling old houses in the Old Town) ▲Misa (installation of landscape lighting and street lamps at Seondong IC, solutions for parking difficulties) ▲Gam-il (plans for public facility acquisition, bus operation plans) ▲Wirye (plans for Wirye cultural events, bus operation plans) ▲Hanam City’s metropolitan transportation issues (subway, Suseok Bridge, etc.) ▲Promotion of public building construction, among others.

The Policy Monitoring Group suggested that since these major issues are projects of high interest to citizens, they should be carried out smoothly according to the planned schedule based on active communication with the citizens.

Mayor Lee Hyun-jae emphasized, “I ask the Policy Monitoring Group to always watch over whether the city’s policies are being properly implemented,” and added, “We will create results in various fields of city administration based on the opinions of citizens, who are the actual users of the policies.”
