Uijeongbu City Successfully Completes First Year of 'Uijeongbu Forest' Healing Travel

2024 Forest Journey Enjoying Four Colors (色)

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 15th that it successfully concluded the "2024 Uijeongbu Forest: 4-Color Travel Enjoyed in the Forest" with the healing tourism service held at Jail Forest Bathing Site on the 12th.

Introduced for the first time this year, Uijeongbu Forest is an experiential tourism product that allows visitors to enjoy rest and relaxation using the forests of Uijeongbu. A total of about 200 citizens and visitors to Uijeongbu participated over 10 sessions during the spring and autumn outing seasons.

The program consisted of forest bathing walks with a forest interpreter, meditation yoga, and aroma therapy experiences. Especially on October 26, the live band "One for the Road" performed a forest busking, enriching the clear autumn forest bathing trip.

The city made every effort in marketing activities and communication with local residents, including expanding promotion and participation channels targeting tourism-disadvantaged groups (youth, postpartum mothers, etc.) to broaden opportunities for cultural tourism enjoyment across various regions and social classes.

Jang Seung-su, Director of the Culture and Arts Division, said, "I hope the Uijeongbu forest remains an impressive memory for all tourism participants," adding, "At the end of this year, the Uijeongbu 8 Scenic Views (Gyeong) will be selected, enriching the city's tourism resources, and we will provide more diverse and beneficial forest experience tourism services in the future."
