Finding Solutions by Visiting the Site of Traffic Obstruction Parking Complaints in Songchon-dong

Gyeonggi Paju City (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) directly visited the site to resolve civil complaints and address citizens' difficulties. The Paju City Civil Complaints Handling Committee (Chairman Won Hee-bok) announced on the 15th that on the 13th, they visited the complaint site with related departments to listen to citizens' challenges and discuss solutions.

The area around Songchon-dong, where the complaint was raised, was a location with a high risk of traffic accidents when entering the road due to obstructed visibility caused by parked vehicles along the roadside.

For over the past five years, it had been difficult to enforce parking regulations and install road facilities to prevent parking, leaving no clear solution. However, a committee member of the Civil Complaints Handling Committee proposed installing a snow removal equipment box on-site, and the responsible department accepted this, finding a breakthrough to solve the problem.

Additionally, the nearby road to the complaint site has a steep slope, making it especially dangerous during snowfall. The installation of the snow removal box is expected to have a dual effect by enabling timely response even in heavy snow conditions.

The committee members who visited the site said, "The answer was on-site, and finding solutions directly at the location makes us feel even more fulfilled," adding, "We will continue to visit sites regularly to resolve citizens' difficulties."

Meanwhile, since July, the Civil Complaints Handling Committee has been conducting activities focused on ‘field-centered resolution of civil complaints,’ including site visits, mobile mayor’s office, and activities linked with Paju City’s representative festivals. They also plan to participate in the ‘2024 Paju Jangdan Bean Festival’ on the 22nd to continue their efforts in resolving citizens' complaints.
