On that day, Paju City and the Paju Police Station, along with about 30 members from private organizations such as the Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Team and Parent Police, distributed informational leaflets and promotional materials focusing on karaoke rooms, convenience stores, room cafes, and electronic cigarette vendors subject to the Youth Protection Act, and conveyed the contents and purpose of violations of the Youth Protection Act.

The main inspection items included ▲whether signs prohibiting the sale of alcohol and tobacco to youth were missing ▲whether harmful substances (alcohol and tobacco) were sold to youth ▲whether signs prohibiting youth entry and employment were missing at establishments where youth entry and employment are banned.

Paju City plans to take administrative actions such as issuing correction orders and imposing fines in accordance with relevant laws on businesses found to be engaging in illegal activities.

Going forward, to create a safe environment where youth can grow up healthily, the city will cooperate with related organizations to conduct joint patrols and inspections of youth-harmful environments.

Kim Su-tae, Director of the Youth and Young Adult Division, stated, “Through continuous youth protection campaign activities, we aim to raise awareness of youth protection and compliance with the Youth Protection Act, and we will carry out ongoing crackdowns and preventive activities to ensure that local youth grow up safely away from harmful environments.”
