Connecting Paju Unjeong Station to Raon Park via Elevated Pedestrian Bridge

An aerial pedestrian bridge connecting Paju Unjeong Station and the Gyeongui-ro sidewalk section is scheduled to be extended to Unjeong Garam Village Raon Park.

According to Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) on the 15th, this pedestrian bridge extension project is being promoted as a public contribution plan by the private developer of the mixed-use complex development project in front of Unjeong Station to provide a safe and convenient walking environment for residents and nearby citizens. The project will enter the administrative process for public inspection of the urban management plan decision (draft) starting from the 15th, aiming for completion in August next year.

The construction company plans to renovate the existing aerial pedestrian bridge as well. The bridge floor pavement, lighting, and railings will be replaced, and sculptural benches and shade shelters will also be installed.

Paju City plans to promptly carry out follow-up administrative procedures such as the urban management plan for the additional pedestrian bridge construction to ensure the project is completed within the scheduled period.

Once the construction is completed, pedestrians will be able to go directly from Unjeong Station to Raon Park, improving the walking environment. Additionally, the upper and lower facilities of the existing aerial pedestrian bridge will be improved, making it more comfortable.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, “This additional extension project of the Unjeong Station pedestrian bridge is a public contribution project that exemplifies cooperation between the public and private sectors to promote citizen convenience as a pledge of the 8th local government administration. We will also do our best to ensure that the public contribution project for the Sori Stream waterfront space proceeds without any setbacks.”
