NHIS Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Headquarters Holds Policy Briefing on Future Tasks for Integrated Care Support

Discussion on the Roles of the Corporation and Local Governments Following the Enactment of the Integrated Support Act

The National Health Insurance Service Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters and Busan City held a policy briefing session on the 14th at 3 PM at the Busan City Hall International Conference Hall under the theme "Current Status of Integrated Care Support Promotion and Future Preparation Tasks."

This event was prepared to discuss the roles of the NHIS and local governments following the enactment of the "Integrated Care Support Act (abbreviated)" with over 150 participants including social welfare and elderly welfare officials from Busan City and heads of the NHIS Long-term Care Operation Centers, ahead of the nationwide implementation of integrated care support in March 2026.

On the day, Yoo Ae-jeong, Director of the Integrated Care Research Center at the Health Insurance Research Institute, presented on the operation of the pilot projects for elderly medical and care integrated support currently underway in 32 regions, and the future preparation tasks for integrated care support, emphasizing that partnership between the NHIS and local governments is crucial for the successful execution of the projects.

Choi Deok-geun, Head of the Regional Headquarters, stated, "Going forward, as the insurer of long-term care insurance, the NHIS will cooperate with the government and local governments to steadily promote various pilot projects related to regional integrated care support and do its best to create a system that the public can use with confidence in preparation for a super-aged society."
