Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 15th that it will conduct a pilot project for the demand-responsive bus service called ‘Haman Call Bus’ and start operation for three months from the 28th of this month to February 28 next year.

The main contents of the ‘Study on the Improvement and Revitalization Plan of Haman-gun Public Transportation System’ include △restructuring rural bus routes by reducing the number of trips on low-utilization local (branch) routes and increasing the number of trunk route trips between Gaya and Hapjeong-dong △introducing a demand-responsive bus to enhance public transportation accessibility △establishing a trunk and branch transfer system considering the conversion of diesel buses to electric buses and the driving range per single charge of electric buses.

In detail, △the operation area covers Gaya-eup, Haman-myeon, and Sanin-myeon (55.1㎢) △operating hours are daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (last call at 9:30 p.m.) △the fleet consists of three Solati vehicles △the fare is 1,450 KRW for adults and 100 KRW for youth and children (free transfers available).

Haman-gun will conduct the demand-responsive ‘Haman Call Bus’ pilot project for three months from the 28th of this month to February 28 next year, designing routes applicable to Haman-gun, and based on the results, plans to implement a demonstration project from March to December 2025.

The Haman Call Bus operates without fixed routes within the service area, adjusting routes in real time according to users’ reservations based on their departure and destination points. The project’s outcomes will be evaluated to continuously improve the service.

A county official stated, “Through the ‘Haman Call Bus’ pilot project, we expect residents in transportation-disadvantaged areas to use public transportation more conveniently,” and added, “We will continue to actively reflect residents’ opinions to create a better transportation system.”
