Over 300 Citizens File Complaint Against Author

As a flood of complaints were filed against the author who wrote defamatory posts about President Yoon Seok-yeol under the name "Han Dong-hoon" on the People Power Party members' bulletin board, the police are expected to launch a full-scale investigation.

On the 15th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that it had received complaints from about 300 citizens on the 13th against Mr. A for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation) and threats.

From May to July, Mr. A posted messages under the name "Han Dong-hoon," including "Promise the next president to B... What is Yoon Seok-yeol's true identity?" and "All local government heads attached to Won Hee-ryong must be killed."

A police official said, "Since this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot provide detailed information about the complaints," adding, "The case will be transferred to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit."

Meanwhile, on the 11th, Oh Sang-jong, head of the Liberty Korea Patriotic Corps, also filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against the author who wrote defamatory posts about President Yoon and his wife, accusing them of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and the Information and Communications Network Act. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit conducted an investigation of the complainant on the 13th.
