According to the recent report by the Thai online media Sanook, the video spread on Weibo, a Chinese social networking service. In the released footage, a female passenger gets into the back seat of a taxi. She is wearing a tight gray dress so short that her shorts underneath are visible. However, despite the risk of her shorts showing due to the short skirt, she appeared completely unconcerned.
The woman leaned sideways, raised her legs, and lay down in the back seat. The taxi driver, who was driving while watching the road ahead, noticed the passenger's behavior late but pretended not to see it, lowering his head and tightly closing his mouth.

Most local netizens who saw the video pointed out that the female passenger's behavior was 'inconsiderate.' They expressed strong reactions such as, "It's annoying; I don't think the driver could concentrate. Definitely inconsiderate," "He probably wanted to turn around and yell at her to fasten her seatbelt and sit properly," "Sitting like that in front of others is rude," "If you can't be careful, don't wear such clothes," "Is she doing it on purpose to show off?" and "If you look, people will criticize you again." However, some defended her, saying, "It's not that inconsiderate," and "How a passenger sits is their freedom." Some speculated that the video might have been staged to attract views online.
Meanwhile, in Korea, passengers must fasten their seatbelts even when sitting in the back seat of a taxi. According to the Road Traffic Act, wearing seatbelts is mandatory in all seats not only on highways but also on regular roads. For taxis and buses as well as private vehicles, drivers must pay a fine of 30,000 KRW if this rule is violated. The fine applies only to vehicles equipped with seatbelts and does not apply to city buses without seatbelts.
