As Tesla proceeds with a recall of the vehicle that gained attention for being ridden by Big Bang's G-Dragon, Lee Hye-won, wife of Ahn Jung-hwan and a former Miss Korea, commented on the ride comfort.
On the 12th, Lee Hye-won uploaded a video titled "GD's car? Cybertruck? Let's check it out together" on her YouTube channel Shorts. In the video, she shared her experience test-driving the Tesla Cybertruck in the United States. The vehicle's interior was distinctly different from typical cars, featuring a small rearview mirror, a steering wheel, and a large touchpad replacing the instrument panel. Lee expressed surprise, saying, "Where did the instrument panel go? Isn't the rearview mirror too small? The car is big, but the steering wheel is covered with just two hands." After getting out of the car, she said, "The ride comfort is not very good. Well, this is a truck after all." When she subtly asked about the vehicle's price, the staff replied it was $80,000 (about 112 million KRW).

The Cybertruck is known to be undergoing a recall due to recently discovered defects. According to Reuters and other sources on the 13th (local time), Tesla decided to recall 2,431 Cybertruck vehicles due to a defect in the inverter component that can cause loss of driving power, and submitted related documents to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If the inverter fails to generate torque, even if the driver presses the accelerator pedal, torque will not be applied to the vehicle, resulting in loss of driving power and a sudden stop, increasing the risk of collision.
Since Tesla began delivering the Cybertruck to customers at the end of November last year, this recall marks the sixth overall. Previously, in April, they recalled about 3,900 vehicles due to an issue where the accelerator pedal could get stuck in the interior trim, and two months later, they recalled about 22,000 vehicles due to defects in the front windshield wipers and cargo bed trim parts. Additionally, last month, they recalled about 27,000 Cybertrucks due to delayed display of the rear camera image.
Meanwhile, the Cybertruck is a large truck measuring 5.7 meters in length, 2.2 meters in width, and weighing 3.1 tons, characterized by its futuristic design and metal exterior. CEO Elon Musk appeared at the delivery event driving the top-tier model himself when the Cybertruck was first delivered. He stated, "The body, inspired by the movie 'Blade Runner,' is made of a tough stainless steel alloy so strong that bullets cannot penetrate it," and shared a video showing the vehicle with only dents remaining after dozens of gunshots. Although it has not yet been released in Korea, it attracted attention when G-Dragon was seen riding it at Incheon International Airport on the 4th. It was reported that the vehicle had a temporary license plate at the time.
