Hanwha Construction Division Receives Deputy Prime Minister's Commendation for Contribution to Private Investment Project Development

Recognized for Contributions to the Daejeon Sewage Treatment Plant Facility Modernization Private Investment Project

Hanwha Construction Division announced on the 15th that it received the Deputy Prime Minister’s Commendation in recognition of its contribution to the development of private investment projects at the ‘30th Anniversary of Private Investment Commemoration Private Investment Cooperation International Conference’ hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The event held on the 12th at the Fairmont Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, was attended by about 300 people, including Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, ambassadors from over 30 countries stationed in Korea, international organizations such as the OECD and the Asian and Inter-American Development Banks, and government officials. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Choi Sang-mok urged the award-winning companies to “actively participate in private investment projects to demonstrate private sector creativity and efficiency and to timely establish social infrastructure needed by the public.”


Hanwha Construction Division received the commendation in recognition of its successful execution of the ‘Daejeon Sewage Treatment Plant Facility Modernization Private Investment Project.’ This project is the largest private investment project in the domestic environmental sector, applying the latest sewage treatment method (PRO-MBR) to improve river water quality and creating a park on the surface by undergrounding the facilities.


Hanwha Construction Division stated, “With the vision of being a ‘Green Infrastructure Developer,’ we plan to focus our capabilities on private investment projects in the domestic environmental sector.”
