"Together as a Reliable Partner for the Local Community Neighbors"
Employees of Korea Zinc once again joined hands with the Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross this year to volunteer for sharing activities aimed at vulnerable groups during the winter season.
Korea Zinc announced on the 15th that it held a 'Cold Weather Energy Save Campaign' winter supplies delivery ceremony and a 'Sharing Love Kimchi Making' volunteer event on the 14th. This was part of the '2024 Warm Winter with Korea Zinc' project, with about 50 participants including employees of Korea Zinc and its affiliates as well as Red Cross volunteers.
At the delivery ceremony held at the Northern Volunteer Center of the Seoul branch of the Red Cross, Korea Zinc donated winter blanket sets and kimchi-making supplies worth approximately 45 million KRW to support neighbors in vulnerable housing conditions who are susceptible to cold waves. The total number of beneficiary households receiving the blanket sets and kimchi was 975.

In the subsequent Sharing Love Kimchi Making volunteer activity, employees of Korea Zinc and its affiliates directly participated alongside Red Cross volunteers to prepare 6,300 kg of kimchi. The packed kimchi was distributed in 9 kg portions to a total of 700 households in need, including elderly living alone and grandparent-headed families.
Ki-Jun Kim, Head of the Sustainability Management Division at Korea Zinc, said, "I heard that many elderly people are eagerly waiting for the kimchi sharing in this sharply cold weather. I am grateful to be able to add warmth together with our employees." He added, "Korea Zinc will continue to be a reliable partner for our neighbors in need within the local community."
Hye-Sook Heo, Secretary General of the Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross, said, "It is not easy to participate continuously in sharing activities for 20 years. We are thankful to Korea Zinc for consistently supporting vulnerable groups with side dishes, summer health foods, and kimchi without interruption."
