Gwangju City to Hold 'Youth Imagination Festival' on the 16th

Programs Featuring Experiences and Cooking Presented at 5·18 Minju Square

Gwangju City announced on the 14th that it will hold the "2024 Gwangju Youth Imagination Festival" (hereinafter referred to as the Imagination Festival), planned and prepared directly by local youth, around the 5·18 Democracy Square on the 16th.

Hosted by the Gwangju Christian Youth Association, the Imagination Festival is a representative local youth festival where you can glimpse the imagination and creativity of young people. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, it offers a variety of attractions and experiential activities.

The event is conducted by the Youth Culture Planning Group, who actively participated throughout the entire process from planning to the main event. Fifteen local youth organizations will present over 60 diverse programs under four themes: ▲Experience ▲Play ▲Cooking ▲Performance, including the Carbon Neutral Imagination Woodworking Playground, drone experience, making tumblro bags, bracelets, keyrings, paracord bracelets, Secrets of the Pure Kitchen, making fish-shaped bread and dalgona, and busking playgrounds.

In particular, as a pre-performance, youth dance teams "KJN" and "New Age," who have been active since the early days of the Imagination Festival, will perform on stage along with a flash mob by the Youth Planning Group.

Lee Young-dong, Director of the Women and Family Bureau of Gwangju City, said, "The Imagination Festival is a place where young people showcase themselves as cultural producers and practitioners. We hope many youths will participate, and we ask for the generous support and response of the citizens."
