LetsRunPark Busan-Gyeongnam Hosts 'Masaengyeonbun Festival' for Single Men and Women Meeting Event

"Finding a Perfect Match Through Horseback Riding"

Amid shocking statistics showing a birth rate of 0.78, the Korea Racing Authority is drawing attention by hosting a matchmaking event using horseback riding.

The Korea Racing Authority Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Head: Eom Young-seok) will hold the "Masaengyeonbun Event" at Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam Horse Riding Land on the 16th to provide unmarried men and women in Busan-Gyeongnam with opportunities to meet through horseback riding and help foster positive values toward marriage.

According to Statistics Korea's "2022 Birth and Death Statistics," Korea's total fertility rate last year was 0.78, ranking last among OECD member countries for the tenth consecutive year. As a state-owned enterprise, the Korea Racing Authority has rolled up its sleeves to support dating among local unmarried men and women in every possible way, aiming to contribute to creating a positive social atmosphere toward marriage through horseback riding.

This festival will be held over 10 weeks for 10 unmarried men and women residing in Busan-Gyeongnam, selected through an open recruitment process. It will include horseback riding lessons and various events such as horseback riding mission games and dates at the racecourse park to help ease the awkwardness between the participants.

Additionally, utilizing horses and park infrastructure, the event participants will receive basic horseback riding education, including horse leading, riding, and control, to create special memories. Safety gear such as helmets will also be provided for safety.

A Korea Racing Authority official said, "We organized this meeting opportunity with the hope that unmarried men and women of marriageable age, who want to get married but cannot due to personal circumstances, will find their partners through horseback riding and build happy families."

Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam plans to alleviate the initial economic burden of marriage for young people and promote the value and charm of horseback riding by offering one-day horseback riding lessons and wedding snap photo support for engaged and newlywed couples who wish to have wedding photos taken.
