54 Icheon Ceramics and Crafts to Be Showcased at London Collect Fair and Craft Week

Icheon City Completes Selection of Entries
Participating in Next Year's Event Hosted by UK Craft Council

Fifty-four ceramic and craft works from Icheon City, Gyeonggi Province, will be showcased at the UK's leading European craft exhibitions, the 'Collect Fair' and 'Craft Week' in London.

On the 14th, Icheon City announced that it had finalized the selection of ceramic and craft works to be exhibited at next year's London Collect Fair and Craft Week after a review process. The city added that 39 works from 18 studios will be presented at the Collect Fair, and 15 works from 6 studios will be exhibited at Craft Week.

The London Collect Fair is a craft art fair organized by the British Craft Council. It is one of Europe's premier craft fairs where museums, craft galleries, curators, designers, and private collectors from around the world participate to discover outstanding works, plan exhibitions, and promote cultural exchange.

The selection process was conducted by a panel of domestic and international ceramic and craft experts who comprehensively evaluated documents and physical works. The city explained that the chosen pieces evenly represent both traditional and modern elements of Icheon.

After the selected works undergo photography for catalog production, sea transportation is scheduled to begin next month. The Collect Fair will be held from February 26 to March 2 next year, and Craft Week will take place from May 12 to 18 next year.

Through this, the city plans to further enhance the international recognition of Icheon ceramics and strengthen its position in the global market. Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, said, "This selection of works is an important milestone for the global advancement of Icheon ceramics and crafts," adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that Icheon ceramics can shine on the world stage."
