Gapyeong-gun announced on the 14th that it held a workshop over two days recently for practical public officials to share success stories at outstanding policy project sites. The workshop, held in Gyeongju City and Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, aimed to strengthen the planning and practical capabilities of public officials and benchmark excellent cases of balanced regional development to discover region-tailored policy projects.

Participants first visited the Hwangnam-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Gyeongju City to learn about urban regeneration and tourism revitalization cases, and explored Hwangridan-gil to understand the process of urban regeneration project development. Then, in Yeongdeok-gun, they visited the Youth Village Creation project and Ttubokyi Village, which have been promoted since 2021, sharing success stories of youth independence and regional vitality support projects. They also experienced the Yeongdeok Blue Road trekking firsthand and discussed how to apply it to Gapyeong-gun.

Workshop participants proposed various application plans and discussed future directions for project development. Key ideas included △diversifying the Jaraseom trekking course (adding a bare-foot trail on the yellow soil path) △creating a workshop street along the alder tree road △developing a deck trail trekking course along the Bukhan River △establishing a one-stop reservation system for tourists’ convenience. Relevant departments plan to review the feasibility of these proposals and, if deemed highly viable, develop them into formal policy projects.

Jang Seok-jo, Director of Planning and Budget, stated, “This workshop received positive feedback from participants, who said it greatly helped enhance their policy planning capabilities,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen public officials’ planning skills through various projects and strive to discover customized policy projects that improve the quality of life for our residents.”
