Goal to Secure 1,000 Ultra-Fast Charging Network Stations by the First Half of Next Year
Electric vehicle fast charging network Water announced on the 14th that it has deployed a total of over 200 gigawatts of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at 48 charging stations nationwide in just two years. As of November, Water has installed 162 ultra-fast and fast chargers and 52 slow chargers nationwide, and explained that it has reduced 5.89 million kg of carbon dioxide over the past two years. This amount of carbon reduction is equivalent to planting 267,000 trees nationwide.
Since opening 'Water Seoul Gwanghwamun' in Jongno-gu, Seoul in November 2022, Water has contributed to the expansion of electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure by establishing more than one charging station per month on average.

Water aims to enter the top 3 CPOs (Charging Point Operators) within three years and plans to accelerate the deployment of charging infrastructure to promote the spread of eco-friendly vehicles. By the end of this year, it will newly install 209 ultra-fast and fast chargers at 46 highway rest areas nationwide, and plans to expand the nationwide ultra-fast charging network to a scale of 1,000 chargers by the first half of next year.
Currently, Water is increasing new electric vehicle charging stations at key transportation hubs nationwide, focusing on local governments such as Jeju Island, Goyang in Gyeonggi Province, and Wonju in Gangwon Province. Through cooperation with Burger King, taxi transportation companies, and others, it is also efficiently utilizing parking spaces in ground parking lots.
Yoo Dae-won, head of the Electric Vehicle Charging Business Division at Bright Energy Partners, said, "Water is leading the charge in addressing the urgent task of expanding electric vehicle infrastructure to combat the climate crisis more than anyone else," and added, "We will continue to expand fast charging infrastructure so that electric vehicle users can charge quickly and conveniently anytime and anywhere."
