Recruitment of Phase 1 Participants for Visually and Physically Disabled Customers from the 14th to the 19th
LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it will operate a new community called 'Bold Move' to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This community allows customers to share inconveniences they have experienced while using LG Electronics' home appliances and services and to exchange ideas for enhancing accessibility.
'Bold Move' means to boldly (Bold) take action (Move), conveying the message that people with disabilities should courageously voice their concerns about inconveniences and collaboratively find solutions to create change.
LG Electronics introduced the auxiliary accessory 'LG Comfort Kit' that helps users easily operate home appliances, and held an event where customers with disabilities tried it firsthand and shared their feedback. LG Electronics
LG Electronics is recruiting participants for the first community session until the 19th. Applications can be submitted via links on LG Electronics' official Instagram and Facebook channels. Participants for the first session will be selected from visually and physically disabled individuals and will begin activities on the 26th. Starting with the first session, LG Electronics plans to expand recruitment to include hearing-impaired and non-disabled customers.
The community will be composed of a small group of about 10 people per session to deeply listen to opinions and experiences and reflect them through a 'focus group research' format. Notably, visually impaired creator Han-sol Kim, who runs the YouTube channel 'OneShotHansol' (990,000 subscribers), and Ji-woo Kim, a creator with cerebral palsy who runs the YouTube channel 'Gulreoragureunim' (80,000 subscribers), will participate to enhance the community's expertise.
Participants will engage in activities both online and offline for about three months, including generating accessibility improvement ideas through product brand hacking, and creating content based on the community's achievements.
LG Electronics will also support patent applications for outstanding accessibility improvement ideas that can be practically applied and plans to publish a magazine compiling the community's activities and achievements to raise awareness of accessibility issues among non-disabled customers.
Lee Hyang, Head of H&A CX at LG Electronics, emphasized, "We will communicate closely with customers and strive to improve accessibility so that anyone can easily use our products without discrimination or exclusion, based on their diverse voices."
