Declaration Ceremony on the 19th... Announcing the Commitment to Realize the Jungnang-type Welfare Community and Brand Development Direction
Resident Connection Platform through Five Key Areas: Donation, Network Formation, Talent Sharing, Health, and Education
Operation of Online and Offline Platforms and Welfare Community Capacity-Building Education Platform
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will hold the proclamation ceremony for the Jungnang-type welfare brand ‘Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet’ on November 19, marking the beginning of customized welfare in Jungnang-gu in collaboration with the local community.
‘Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet’ is a customized welfare brand of Jungnang-gu planned to create a welfare community where residents voluntarily participate to help and share with each other under the goal of ‘400,000 residents helping 400,000 residents.’ It was prepared as a measure to respond to rapidly changing local welfare demands such as entering a super-aged society and the increase of single-person households, and to resolve welfare blind spots together with the private sector in addition to institutional welfare support.
The main features of ‘Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet’ include ▲building an online platform that anyone can easily access ▲operating an offline platform for communication and meetings ▲operating an education platform to strengthen the capacity of the welfare community.
The newly established online platform allows residents who want to help and those who need help to select the projects they want to participate in among five major areas: donation, network formation, talent sharing, health, and education. Each project manager then verifies the information of service providers and recipients to connect them. Public and private welfare information can be viewed at once, and it is linked with the Volunteer Center and Jungnang-gu Social Welfare Council, making it easy to access donation and volunteer activities.
Additionally, for residents who have difficulty accessing online services, an offline platform will also be operated where people can meet and communicate directly. By providing a place for residents to meet, interact, and cooperate, it plans to strengthen community bonds and discover hidden vulnerable households and welfare blind spots.
Furthermore, the community capacity-building education platform ‘Jungnang Donghaeng Academy’ will be operated to nurture resident leaders who can contribute to the local community. It helps residents acquire welfare knowledge and community leadership to solve various local issues independently.
Since July, the district has held four expert advisory meetings to gather diverse opinions and made efforts to develop the welfare brand, including establishing a dedicated team in October. At the proclamation ceremony on the 19th, the official launch of ‘Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet’ will be announced, and the will to realize the Jungnang-type welfare community and the brand development direction will be shared with residents.
Starting with this proclamation ceremony, the district plans to establish a structure where residents help residents and complete the Jungnang-gu welfare model.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet is a new attempt at community welfare where neighbors help neighbors,” adding, “Through Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet, we will prepare concrete support measures so that welfare services can reach more residents and strive to establish it as a welfare community that residents can take pride in.”
