The performance sharing meeting was organized to encourage the activities of the citizen promotion group, share achievements, and gather citizen opinions necessary for future expo preparations, thereby laying the foundation for a citizen-participatory garden city.
The 201-member citizen promotion group has been actively working as a key force for the successful hosting of the 2024 Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo through voluntary service since the inauguration ceremony on May 18, including △ garden literacy education △ role division by subcommittees △ garden creation △ garden interpretation △ garden promotion.
About 80 people attended the performance sharing meeting, which included the meeting itself as well as forest culture experiences and natural material experience programs. Attendees reaffirmed the value of garden culture and enjoyed a healing time.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “The successful hosting of this Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo is thanks to the dedication and efforts of the citizen promotion group who played a pioneering role,” adding, “I was deeply impressed by your voluntary service. I am confident that with you, we can achieve super growth.”
The city plans to expand citizens’ interest and participation in garden culture through this performance sharing meeting and establish a foundation for a continuously growing garden culture expo.
