Gwangju City Council Selects Recipients for the 16th Annual Council Awards in 2024

The Gwangju City Council of Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng) announced on the 13th that it held a meeting of the '2024 16th Gwangju City Council Awards Judging Committee,' composed of 15 members including Gwangju City Council members and external committee members, and selected the awardees.

As a result of the judging on that day, one awardee was selected in each of the nine categories: Kim Ji-yeon (Secretary General of the Gyeonggi Gwangju Branch of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations) in the Culture and Arts category, Shin Yu-ri (President of the Gwangju City Daycare Center Association) in the Education category, Park Jeong-seon (Swimming Instructor at Gwangju City G-Sports Club) in the Sports category, Yang Mi-soon (President of the Gwangju City Women's Association Council) in the Community Service category, Han Bong-hoon (Chief of Gwangju Fire Station) in the Regional Safety category, Kim Seon-gyeong (Team Leader of the Taxation Team, Taxation Division) in the Administration category, Yoon Seok-il (Representative of Tax Corporation Nara Gyeonggi Gwangju Branch) in the Regional Economy category, So Su-mi (Member of the Gwangju City Branch of the Gyeonggi Eastern Branch of the National Nature Conservation Association) in the Environmental Conservation category, and Lee Man-ho (Head of the National Daily Newspaper Headquarters) in the Press category.

Meanwhile, the Gwangju City Council Awards, which began in 2005 and are now in their 16th year, aim to express gratitude and foster pride by selecting and honoring citizens and public officials who have contributed to the development of the local community and the council in the fields of culture and arts, education, sports, community service, regional safety, administration, regional economy, environmental conservation, and press. The 2024 Gwangju City Council Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 27th in the main chamber after the conclusion of the first plenary session of the 313th Gwangju City Council's 2nd regular meeting.
