Inhawae University President Jo Myung-woo Leads Efforts to Enhance Outstanding Research Capabilities

Cho Myung-woo, President of Inha University, was born in 1960 and graduated from the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering at Seoul National University. He completed his master's degree in Mechanical Design Engineering at Seoul National University Graduate School and earned a Ph.D. in Engineering from Illinois State University in the United States.


President Cho served as a specialist at the Korea Productivity Center and as head of the system division at Daewoo Electronics before being appointed as a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Inha University in 1997. He later served as dean of the College of Engineering, director of academic affairs, and vice president for academic affairs at Inha University, and assumed the presidency in 2018.

From 2020, he served as chairman of the Gyeongin Regional University Presidents' Council for two years and was also the inaugural chairman of the Incheon Presidents' Forum. Currently, he is active as the vice chairman of the Korea Association of Private University Presidents.


President Cho is committed to improving campus infrastructure in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and places great emphasis on nurturing talent in new and advanced industrial fields. He is recognized for contributing to Inha University's excellent performance in the QS World University Rankings by enhancing research and educational capabilities and expanding financial resources.
