Work-Life Balance Competitiveness... Dongdaemun-gu Provides Awareness Improvement Training for Employers

Explanation of Work-Life Balance Support Systems by Life Cycle for Small and Medium Enterprise Employers
Quarterly Training Scheduled from Next Year for Local Companies

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) conducted a 'Work-Life Balance Awareness Improvement Education' at the Dongdaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center on the 11th.

This education was prepared to raise awareness of maternal and paternal protection and to spread understanding of work-life balance systems in order to create an employment culture that achieves work-life balance.

Amid the growing importance of work-life balance due to low birthrate issues, Dongdaemun-gu has been promoting a 'Work-Life Balance Campaign' since July to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling with a lack of professional personnel and budget.

This education was conducted as part of the campaign, targeting employers of SMEs in the region.

On the day, certified labor attorney Seoryong Kim from the Seoul Eastern Workplace Mom Support Center explained work-life balance support systems according to life cycles such as pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare.

Additionally, the reasons why employers should implement these systems were introduced along with various work-life balance programs, including the 'Work-Life Balance Point System' and the 'Birth Support Seoul Project' for Seoul's SMEs.

Starting next year, Dongdaemun-gu plans to regularly hold quarterly 'Work-Life Balance Awareness Improvement Education' sessions for local companies to further expand the campaign.

A district official stated, "Through this education, we hope employers will increase their understanding of maternal and paternal protection systems, reduce management burdens, and establish a culture where work and family coexist." He added, "This will also positively contribute to solving the low birthrate issue."
