Birth of Third Daughter with Boyfriend
Uncharged Transfer in August on Fraud Allegation
Police: "Boyfriend Also Embezzled Part of the Amount"
Areum (30, real name Lee Areum), a former member of the group T-ara, has been revealed to have given birth to her third child.
On the 1st of last month, Areum posted a photo of her third daughter on her social media account with the caption, "Now all your questions about my child will be answered." She stated, "I cannot express how heartbroken I was seeing the words that cannot even be spoken," and added, "My baby, who was alive and breathing perfectly in my womb and deserved only love, had to endure such speculation, which made me really resentful of people." She continued, "I am someone who loves children very much. I have always liked children, so how much more would I love my own babies?" and said, "My maternal love is so strong that speculative articles about my children were especially shocking to read. I thought it would be fine as long as it wasn't about me, but I would appreciate it if people refrained from speaking carelessly about children who deserve to be loved."
Areum also said, "The incidents are being resolved one by one," and added, "I am currently taking legal action mainly against articles that maliciously attack me and people who harass me by exploiting the situation. I will no longer worry or pay attention to them." Furthermore, she said, "I will live the rest of my life happily and very ordinarily with my baby. I will come back as a wonderful woman of this era."
Previously, Areum was sent to prosecution without detention on charges of borrowing about 37 million won from three acquaintances, including fans, in August and not repaying it. The victims claimed, "Areum borrowed money citing personal reasons with her boyfriend and has not repaid it to this day." The police reportedly also found that Areum's boyfriend extorted some amount from the victims and handed him over to the prosecution together.
Meanwhile, Areum debuted in the music industry in July 2012 by joining the group T-ara as a new member. However, she left the group in July 2013, just one year after her debut, and announced her solo activities. Since then, she appeared on KBS2's 'Idol Rebooting Project - The Unit,' TV Chosun's 'Tomorrow's National Singer,' and JTBC's 'Sing Again 3 - Unknown Singer.' She married a non-celebrity in 2019 and has two sons but is currently undergoing a divorce lawsuit. Amid this, she announced her remarriage last year and revealed her boyfriend's face.
