On the 13th, Gwangju City announced that starting with Gwangsan District on the 14th, it will sequentially sign a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Fire Safety Management Cooperation among Accommodation Facilities, District Offices, and Fire Stations" by district.

The accommodation facilities participating in the agreement include 5 locations in Dong-gu, 16 in Seo-gu, 3 in Buk-gu, and 8 in Gwangsan-gu, totaling 32 local accommodation facilities with 50 or more rooms. As of June 30, there are 615 accommodation facilities in the Gwangju area.

This agreement aims to raise awareness of fire accidents that may occur in accommodation facilities and to minimize fire prevention and damage. According to the agreement, district offices and fire stations will conduct ▲ joint fire prevention inspections ▲ support for fire safety education and training ▲ guidance and education on fire evacuation and the use of emergency escape devices, while accommodation facilities will fulfill fire safety obligations stipulated by laws and regulations.

Ko Gwang-wan, Deputy Mayor for Administration, emphasized, "Proactive prevention is most important for citizen safety," adding, "Through this agreement, we will do our best to prevent fire damage to accommodation facilities and strengthen safety management to realize a safe city of Gwangju where people can feel secure anytime and anywhere from disasters."
