A pediatric intensive care patient suffering from pulmonary arterial hypertension has been able to continue treatment thanks to support from actress Suzy. The child's mother expressed her gratitude, saying, "I received help from Suzy during a moment so difficult that I was about to give up treatment."
This fact became known when A, the mother of 27-month-old Baerihee, left a thank-you comment on Suzy's Instagram on the 12th. A wrote, "Thanks to your help with our baby's hospital bills, she is receiving good treatment. I am very grateful," and added, "I will never forget this kindness and will always live with gratitude toward Suzy." She continued, "Our first child's name is also Bae Suzy," and said, "We will raise our twins to be loving people like Suzy. Always stay healthy and happy."
The donation Suzy sent for Baerihee's surgery is known to be 20 million won. Baerihee was born prematurely, weighing less than 1 kg, and has been diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension, brain lesion disability, and visual impairment. She has been receiving treatment while moving between a general ward and the intensive care unit. Despite the difficult situation where the ICU hospital bill alone reaches 7 million won per month, Suzy's support has made it possible to continue treatment.
Suzy's good deed was not even known by her agency. When A's comment became a hot topic, Suzy's agency, Management SOOP, explained, "Suzy made this donation personally without informing the agency." They added, "This is not a special case; she has been consistently donating," and said, "She has an interest in helping patients, and this is part of that."
As the story became known, netizens responded enthusiastically with comments such as "As expected, Suzy," "Her heart is as beautiful as her face," "Long live Goddess Suzy," "Suzy is truly consistent," "No wonder we love her," "I've worked with Suzy, and she really is an angel," and "Tell me how not to like Bae Suzy."
Meanwhile, Suzy has been continuing her good deeds through steady donations over a long period. In 2015, she was registered as a member of the Hope Bridge 'Honors Club,' a group of high-value donors who have donated over 100 million won. In November 2022, it was also revealed that her cumulative donations had exceeded 500 million won.
