Approximately 50% of K-Venue Sales Share During 11.11 Singles' Day
AliExpress announced on the 13th that domestic products accounted for about half of the total share during the ongoing Singles' Day event, which started on the 11th of this month. AliExpress is holding a discount event to celebrate Singles' Day (November 11), known as the largest discount event in C-commerce (Chinese e-commerce).
According to AliExpress, as of the first day of this Singles' Day sale, the sales amount (GMV) ratio of K-Venue sellers, a dedicated section for domestic products, recorded about 50% of total sales. K-Venue is a sales channel for domestic products where Korean sellers participate and ship products from Korea.
The top three popular categories on AliExpress on the first day of Singles' Day were ▲Home Appliances & Digital ▲Food ▲Furniture (Home & Living products). Among them, the daily sales of the Home Appliances & Digital category on the 11th increased by more than 41 times compared to the previous day.
Through this Singles' Day event, domestic small and medium-sized brands also achieved sales success. Gaming computer company Freeflow recorded over 3 billion KRW in sales within just one hour of the start of sales, ranking first in daily sales as a single brand. Additionally, among K-Venue tenants, more than 200 partner companies saw their average daily sales increase more than tenfold before and after participating in Singles' Day.
Ray Zhang, CEO of AliExpress Korea, said, "This event is significant in that it provided customers with abundant shopping choices and created enormous commercial opportunities for domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and merchants," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide better and more services to both customers and sellers."
Meanwhile, following the Singles' Day event running until the 18th, AliExpress will also hold a Black Friday event (November 19 to December 3). During the event period, consumers can participate in promotions such as the Ali 100-won raffle, time deals, and payment benefits in addition to discount offers.
